Design is an important aspect is life, and so is planning. Design and planning are applicable in many different fields like buildings, public facilities, products, and marketing tools. The world of design and planning is also evolving in accordance with the society growth.
UPH Faculty of Design and Planning prepares graduates to meet the challenges in the globalization, information and communication technology era. The faculty covers five different majors like Architecture, Civil Engineering, Visual Communication Design, Product Design, and Interior Design. Each major is then divided into several areas of concentration to ensure students to focus on the areas of their interest. Students are also introduced to the professional world through apprenticeship activities from the early semesters. They will also tutored by distinguished lecturers and professionals who hold Master and Doctoral degrees from reputable national and international universities.

We appreciate your interest in studying at UPH and are committed to help more students to pursue their further study at UPH. As a part of our commitment, in the academic year 2008/2009 UPH will provide a range of scholarships for students with the highest academic achievements, special achievements (in music and sport) and to those with limited financial resources. Scholarships can be obtained for all majors and includes tuition and living costs for Education Department. Tuition scholarships are available for students of UPH Karawaci and Surabaya. These scholarships cover from 25% to 100% of tuition fee.

UPH offers the dual degree program in partnership with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). QUT is one of Australian’s largest universities with 40,000 students, 12% of them are international students (QUT Statistics). QUT offers a broad range of undergraduate degrees than most other universities, with the flexibility to choose a combination of study areas as well as participate in exchange programs with overseas universities. Dengan cara bagaimana dialog itu dilakukan, dan bagaimana posisi masing-masing dalam dialog itu sudah menjadi perbincangan yang tidak habis-habisnya.
Department of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture
The Department of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture is the first of its kind in the polytechnic educational system of this country. The program integrates the rationalism of planning analysis and the subjective sensibilities of landscaping design into a holistic training program. It provides students with both the technical abilities and fine arts background and leads to a degree as well as expertise in the profession. The four-year curriculum combines planning, design, landscaping, and information into a framework with three major fields: urban planning, landscape architecture, and land development real estate management.
General Objective
This program objective is to provide graduates with the skills in Visual Communication Design [new media and animation], and to carry them out at a high level as well as preparing them to be able to maximize the opportunities of new technology in developing their professional and individual competence.
Specific Objective
In the near future, the program will continue to focus on scientific and technological innovation based on visual communication design and pursue the development of information technology in application design both intellectually and socially, using environmental insight, in order to prepare our students for the globalized world.
