General
VCC welcomes applications from Canadian citizens, permanent residents and international students.
Exceptions Convention refugees as designated by the federal government;
Foreign live-in caregivers;
Individuals with work permits valid for at least one year, covering the duration of studies; or those with Approval in Principle letters from Citizenship and Immigration Canada;
Legal dependents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents (certain conditions apply);
Diplomats and their direct dependents;
International exchange students.
VCC will require proof of citizenship, residency, diplomatic or refugee status. Please see VCC’s policy relating to admission for non-citizens and non-residents for more information.
International students VCC welcomes international students from around the world to the college’s academic or career programs.

As Vancouver Community College is a post-secondary institution committed to educating adult learners, applicants should be 18 years of age or older or a graduate of a secondary school.

This program has been Canadian Language Benchmarked at the following levels:
Speaking 8, Listening 8, Reading 7, Writing 7
Students require access to the following
Computing Equipment:
a reasonably up-to-date computer, preferably with a high-speed (broadband) internet connection
an Office Suite (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics/business presentations)
Free Star/Open Office suite (includes Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress) can be downloaded
Star/Open Office suite is MS-Office (Word, Excel) compatible
Dreamweaver MX (or more recent) as a website/webpage development tool is highly recommended (educational version available)
a graphics/photo editing program
access to hard disk storage of the computer being used
Recommended characteristics
Students will possess some art training or demonstrate a strong creative interest through their portfolio submission
Ability to work in a structured environment
Highly proficient in the english language, with good oral and written communication skills
