Graduates have the skills and knowledge to:
Demonstrate an effective understanding and use of basic graphic design elements and principles
Research, analyze, develop and present design concepts and visual ideas for both real world and simulated design problems
Identify, describe and produce a wide variety of graphic design applications with a high degree of creative and technical ability
Demonstrate a thorough understanding and work productively with a wide variety of computer hardware and peripherals including: Mac Os, CD burners, storage devices, scanners, printers, drawing tablets and digital cameras
Demonstrate a thorough understanding and work efficiently with a wide variety of software applications including: PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, HTML Editors, Flash, Cinema 4D, MS Office and other associated software
Troubleshoot the common problems associated with relevant software and hardware
Produce graphic files in appropriate formats and resolutions for a variety of service bureaus
Generate a variety of portfolio pieces representing the skills acquired during the program
Plan and execute a graphic design event showcasing a select number of portfolio pieces
Identify and produce self-promotional material including: resumes, proposals, client/designer relationships and copyright responsibilities
Develop employer databases and conduct job searches
