The ENST concentration in Ecological Technology Design prepares students for integrating natural systems with the built environment to solve environmental problems while achieving economic,ecological and social sustainability. The science and applications of using natural systems, processes and organisms to address environmental issues has evolved during the last few decades to a mature level whereby there are strong employment opportunities for graduates that are cross-educated in ecology and technology.

The new printmaking major is an expansion of the emphasis in printmaking that has existed in Fine Arts for decades.

Ringling College’s new Printmaking major allows you to experience in-depth studies in the discipline of printmaking. You’ll develop a comprehensive range of skills within the areas of lithography, relief printing, silkscreen, and intaglio (engraving, drypoint, etching, aquatint, stipple, mezzotint). The program provides you with wide exposure to traditional and contemporary techniques and also offers courses in computer-assisted printmaking and book arts.

After a thorough exploration of various printmaking media, you’ll further develop personal content through independent experimentation.

The new painting major is an expansion of the emphasis in painting that has existed in Fine Arts for decades.

Ringling College’s new Painting major allows you to develop a comprehensive range of skills, knowledge and competencies within painting/drawing. You’ll be introduced to a wide range of both traditional painting conventions and more contemporary methods and forms. The curriculum provides a wide array of artistic experiences ranging from figurative and landscape painting options to abstraction, collaboration, performance, installation, and time based art.

M. Tech. (Non Destructive Testing)

As Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of industrial products, there is a constant demand for qualified NDT professionals in industries.

To meet this industrial demand, the Department offers M.Tech. (NDT) programme which is structured as in the Brunel University, UK. In this programme, students are taught with necessary theoretical inputs as well as with practical training in collaboration with NDT Lab and Welding Research Institute (WRI) of Bharath Heavy Electricals (BHEL), Tiruchirappalli (www.bheltry-spares.com). In this four semester programme, the first two semesters are designed for theory, practicals and field work. The third and fourth semesters are exclusively meant for carrying out project work in industries and various research institutions in the country like IISc, IGCAR, WRI , BHEL, HAL etc.

This programme is indeed a testimony for the interaction between Industry and Educational Institution. NITT enjoys the pride of offering this unique postgraduate programme in whole of the country for nearly two decades.

Recently the M.Tech (NDT) programme has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for 5 years from 2008.
