Financial Aid consists of loans and grants. The process of applying for financial aid can be confusing, but we have made it easy by providing you with a “one-stop shop” for information and applications. Click on any of the menu items on the left side of this screen to explore the financial resources that are available to you as a full-time, part-time, or apprenticeship student at NAIT.

NAIT Financial Aid News

Please note that if you are scheduled to receive a student loan in January, the loan may only cover a portion of the balance due. You may check your account balance at NAIT by logging on to your student portal at nait.ca/mynait. To determine the amount of student loan you are scheduled to receive for January 2008, please refer to your Notice of Assessment from Student Finance or check the alis website at gov.ab.ca to see the amount requested by the school.

Therefore, please make sure that your student account is paid in full before January 15, 2008.

Alberta Works/Skills Investment Program Grant Cheque
s: Educational institutions that are closing for Christmas break can release these cheques to their students earlier than usual - preferably the last day of school. These funds are for students’ January living expenses. Students must meet applicable enrolment, progress and attendance guidelines in order to receive these cheques.

Alberta Works/SIP Non EI living allowance grant cheques will be couriered to the educational institution. January cheques can be picked up on December 18 and December 19, 2008.

Alberta Works/SIP EI cheques will be mailed to the student’s home address.

Part Time Alberta Works/SIP cheques will be couriered to the educational institution.

Christmas Break: Please refer to the Christmas Break Status Reporting guide for information on reporting your EI status to Alberta Education over the 2008/2009 Christmas break. Thank you!

The 2007-2008 Skills Investment Program grant funding application forms for programs that start after August 1, 2007 are available now. Be aware that it takes two months to process your funding application.
