This program is designed to provide comprehensive training for creative individuals who wish to develop their skills and understanding of jewellery as an artistic expression with commercial viability. Graduates should be able to set up their own studio-workshop or find employment as jewellery designers, gold or silversmiths, stone setters, lapidary stone cutters and jewellery store owner/managers.

This unique two year diploma program offers a hands-on learning experience in the design and fabrication of jewellery. The program appeals to creative individuals who would like to develop their skills in both the artistic and technical aspects of jewellery making. Established in 1988, the Jewellery Art & Design program has been instrumental in training a dynamic and entrepreneurial community of successful studio artists. The curriculum is project-oriented. It includes a wide range of both traditional and innovative approaches to metal techniques as well as courses in design, drawing, Art History, gemmology and business management. Career Prospects Well-trained hairstylists are in constant demand in every community. Graduates specializing in Women's Hair Design who have obtained their provincial license are qualified to secure employment in large or small salons, or they may wish to open their own business. This part-time program is tailored to the needs of the ever-growing residential design industry. Our program offers you foundation skills for entry-level employment and the opportunity to develop a solid portfolio for further study. Some courses transfer to BCIT's Interior Design program and may be used for credit with BCIT for further education in this area (subject to portfolio review and 65% GPA).
